Gear Drop & Departure Info

  • YCL CampZ Gear Drop: 6/21 5pm @ Thayer

  • Ward CampZ Gear Drop: TBD by WARDS (individual wards please make a plan & communicate)

  • Depart for CampZ: BIG ADVENTURES require our girls to leave on varying schedules - see below


YCL Overnight Backpackers 

(Bro & Sis Johnson’s Group)

  • Regular camp gear that needs to go to Camp Zarahemla will be dropped off on Saturday 6/21 5pm @ Thayer Bldg and loaded in the YCL trailer to be taken up to Camp Zarahemla while you hike. (overnight backpacking gear goes with you on Monday 6/23)

  • Meet to leave for your hike on Monday 6/23 7am @ Thayer Bldg with your overnight backpacking gear.

  • Eat breakfast before you come & bring a packed lunch for your hike.

  • Once your hike is over Tuesday, you will be brought to Camp Zarahemla with your backpacking gear. Lunch will be provided in the Lodge. Your regular camp gear will be waiting for you in the YCL trailer; you may store your hiking packs in the trailer until we get home. 

  • When camp is over, all YCL girls will ride home to Richland with their wards, leaving Camp Zarahemla 11am on Saturday 6/28. YCL CampZ gear & YCL Backpacking packs will all be transported back home by the stake, in the YCL trailer.

  • Parent pick up will be Saturday 6/28 around 1pm.


YCL Rock Climb & Rapellers 

(Bro Cottam’s Group)

  • Camp gear that needs to go to Camp Zarahemla will be dropped off on Saturday 6/21 5pm @ Thayer Bldg and loaded in the YCL trailer to be taken up to Camp Zarahemla.

  • Meet to leave for your Rappelling Adventure Tuesday 6/24 @ 7am at Thayer Bldg.

  • Eat before or bring a breakfast to eat in the car on the way, as well as a snack for later.

  • Once your climb is over Tuesday afternoon, you will be brought to Camp Zarahemla where lunch will be provided in the Lodge. Your camp gear will be waiting for you in the YCL trailer.

  • When camp is over, all YCL girls will ride home to Richland with their wards, leaving Camp Zarahemla 11am on Saturday 6/28. YCL CampZ gear will be transported back home by the stake, in the YCL trailer.

  • Parent pick up will be Saturday 6/28 around 1pm.


6th-10th Grade Overnight Backpackers 

(Bro & Sis Woodard’s Group)

  • Camp gear that needs to go to Camp Zarahemla will be dropped off with your ward before you leave for your hike. Talk to your ward camp specialist about transporting it to camp for you.

  • Meet Tuesday 6/24 8am @ Thayer Bldg. to leave for your Big Adventure. Bring your overnight backpacking gear. Eat breakfast before you come & bring a packed lunch for your hike.

  • Once your hike is over Wednesday, you will be brought to Camp Zarahemla with your backpacking gear. Lunch will be provided in the Lodge after Opening Firebowl.

  • When camp is over, individual wards are in charge of bringing YOU, your hiking pack, & Camp Zarahemla gear back to Richland, leaving Camp Zarahemla 11am on Saturday 6/28. 

  • Parent pick up will be Saturday 6/28 around 1pm.


6th-10th Grade Railcycle, Rappel & Horses

(Everyone attending Camp, including those not BIG-adventuring)

  • Meet as wards to gather camp gear. Packing lists are provided below. (talk to your ward camp specialist about pack check date/time/place)

  • Individual wards are responsible to transport campers & their gear to Camp Zarahemla. Campers must leave Richland on Wednesday 6/25 around 7-7:30am to make the 2 hour drive to Camp Zarahemla by 9:30am – in time for all of the festivities.

  • When camp is over, Wards are in charge of bringing campers & their hiking packs and Camp Zarahemla gear back to Richland; leaving Camp Zarahemla 11am on Saturday 6/28. 

  • Parent pick up will be Saturday 6/28 around 1pm.


**NOTE: If you need to arrive late or leave early, it is YOUR responsibility to find your own transportation as well as communicate your plans clearly to your leaders before camp. Keep in mind the Church requires we are not driving one-on-one with a camper/leader for safety reasons. There are so many moving parts to this fun week, please be courteous when making your plans.
